Ritual!Police grapple with puzzle of a man found buried in his house

Police have launched investigations to  a bizarre incident in which a man was found murdered and his body buried in his house.

Residents of Mzee Wanyama village, Mwariki B of Nakuru County expressed shock after the body of 55 year old Jared Singoli was found buried under the bed.

His wife Jennifer Kwamboka who had travelled from their rural home in Kisii, suspecting something was amiss after Singoli’s phone went unanswered for a week.

“I was very worried since he always answers his phone. I called his relatives and asked them to help locate her husband and check whether he was fine adding that she even thought he could have fallen ill while home alone,” she said.

According to a neighbor, upon arrival at the deceased’s home, they found the gate wide open but the door to the house was locked.

They were forced to break it down to gain entry and found chairs pushed towards the bed and when they moved the lot, discovered the makeshift grave.

Police arrived at the scene and the process of exhuming the body began. Minutes later, his lifeless body was discovered wrapped in a sack.

According to Deputy County Commissioner, Nakuru East Herman Shambi, police have also launched a manhunt for a young man said to have been staying with Jangoli.

“The young man claimed that the deceased had gone to his rural home for a burial ceremony,” said Geoffrey Kangethe, a neighbour to the deceased.
