Manchester United to Mourinho. What we wish for you

Is Mourinho an old dog that cant bite anymore?

Three years ago, on 17 December 2015, Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea and history has repeated itself again .

Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United, a club statement on Tuesday morning said.

He leaves the club with United in sixth position in the table after their worst start to a top-flight campaign since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.

“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.

“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”

Michael Carrick will reportedly take training this week but it is not yet clear who will take charge of the team until the end of the season.

Former United and England defender Gary Neville said on Sky Sports: “I think it will happen – my preference would always be to get to the end of the season. But the board room is so naive it’s unbelievable.

“The minute he [Mourinho] came back from pre-season he was at it and the club was out of control. Nobody above him can handle him. They don’t know what to do with him, they don’t know what to say to him. They don’t know what he’s going to say at every press conference. It will cost a fortune to lose him now.”

United were outplayed in Sunday’s 3-1 loss at Anfield, which leaves them in sixth, 19 points off leaders Liverpool.

United’s next fixture is against Cardiff in the Premier League on Saturday.

Will Manchester improve with a new manager?
