Arsenal can now sign Martial

London clubs Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Manchester United winger Anthony Martial.

This is after the Frenchman’s agent admitted he is “very pessimistic” over the club’s chances of finalizing a new long-term contract for the winger.

Martial’s current deal with the club is set to expire at the end of the season but United has already triggered a one-year extension for the winger.

Chelsea and Arsenal have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old after Martial’s agent claimed in the summer that winger wants to leave.

The two clubs once again have been handed a boost with agent Philippe Lamboley claimed that he is doubting if the club will extend Martial’s contract.

Speaking to RMC Sport, Lamboley said, “I am very pessimistic about a positive outcome of the discussions. They’ve already made several offers that do not meet our expectations. We are far from an agreement for the time being.”

The Red Devils have been attempting to get Martial to sign a new five-year contract but Lamboley admits the club are ‘far from an agreement’.
