The level at which the police in Kenya are colliding with its civilians is proving serious as lots of blood have already been lost. Lately a lot of drama has been witnessed in confrontations between the police and civilians that a recent fatal one has caught the attention of IPOA.

At least two people were killed and ten others injured among them Trans Nzoia County Assembly Speaker Joshua Werunga following confrontation between villagers and police yesterday.
The villagers were shot by police officers at Kalongolo village in Kwanzaa in a bloody confrontation when the officers went to arrest a man suspected to have attacked a woman.
One police officer involved in the shooting was disarmed and arrested as a probe into the incident goes on.The injured are in hospital.
A police car was pelted with stones and seriously damaged in the drama.Villagers told police they were angered by police move to shoot them without provocation
On its own motion and acting pursuant to its statutory mandate under section 25(1) of the IPOA act that requires the authority to investigate deaths and serious injuries caused by police action, The Independent Policing Oversight Authority has this morning launched investigations into the incident with a view of unraveling the circumstances that led to the fatal shootings and injuries and more particularly whether the police officers were justified in the use of fire arms.
A team of IPOA investigators has already arrived and are already on the ground.
Upon conclusion, if culpability is found the authority promises to ensure the responsible officers face the full force of the law through appropriate criminal or disciplinary recommendations to the Director of public prosecutions and other suitable government agencies.
