People are changing sides each and everyday. Today they are political allies tomorrow they are foes who cannot see face to face.
This the exact situation that the Deputy President is in right now.
Just today , news came tripping in that ANC leader is having a meeting with the leaders from the kikuyu nation. This meeting is aimed at discussing the future of the region in the National politics. And he has grown to be a most welcomed guest more than DP Ruto who backed President Uhuru Kenyatta for his two term presidency but right now Ruto is staring at straight betrayal.
Just few weeks before President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit in Nyanza region Ruto had already visited the region to launch a number of projects.
He left the region smiling especially Migori where people were singing his tune a lone for presidency.
But this tone has changed when President Uhuru Kenyatta visited the region.
Governors and lawmakers from Luo Nyanza have offered President Uhuru Kenyatta the position of Prime Minister if he supports Raila for President.
They want Uhuru to endorse Opposition leader Raila Odinga as his successor. In return, they will support a referendum and endorse Uhuru for Prime Minister after his term ends.
The 2022 politics is part of the agenda the leaders discussed with Uhuru at the Kisumu State Lodge on Thursday night.
Raila was present. Nyanza leaders from Kisii were asked to excuse themselves. The leaders met after Uhuru launched the universal health coverage programme at the Mamboleo showground in Kisumu.
Kisii governor James Ongwae, Nyamira’s John Nyagarama and Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi were told to leave by an ODM official.
This is again a sign of betrayal to the Deputy President who through his tangatanga mission has been trying to estbalish himself has the perfect replacement to The President Uhuru Kenyatta.
But DP Ruto is receiving is just betrayals. He can focus on the Western region because in the Rift Valley their is already a clear line of separation between Gideon Moi Allies and his die hard supporters.
