According to reports, Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente will ask for a move away from Los Blancos in January if he isn’t playing regularly for the Spanish giants.

This declaration would likely come as a surprise to Madrid fans that Llorente could be seeking a move away considering that the 23-year-old has started each of Madrid’s last six games.

The Madrid academy graduate has been given the chance to impress under Santiago Solari since Brazilian anchor man Casemiro got sidelined with an injury, although it seems that Llorente is fearing for his future with Casemiro nearing a return for Los Blancos. Llorente’s frustrations could stem from the fact that he only played once in the first four months of the season before Casemiro was injured.

As a result of his desire to seek guaranteed playing time elsewhere, Premier League giants, Arsenal and Liverpool, have been linked with the talented midfielder with both clubs known to be looking to add a player in the middle. Italian Serie A duo, Roma and Napoli, have also been linked in recent months with the defensive midfielder who has been one of Real Madrid’s most impressive players this season.

Llorente, who can also play in central defence and central midfield, has spent almost his entire career with Real Madrid since joining the youth set up in 2012, spending a year on loan at La Liga side, Deportivo Alaves, between 2016 and 2017 having been brought into the Real Madrid first team from Castilla in 2016.
