Mudavadi hails Uhuru’s Nyanza tour, calls for equal distribution of resources

They lead by examples. Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for touring and launching multi-billion development projects in Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s Nyanza backyard. Mudavadi was however, critical that every part of the nation needed to benefit from national revenue through equitable distribution of resources.

In a press statement by spokesperson Kibisu Kabatesi, Musalia said having the president launch numerous development projects in a region which was perceived a thorn into the flesh of his leadership was a laudable move as it showed every Kenyan deserved service from government.

“It is laudable to see the president initiate development projects in areas perceived to be hostile to him.

This shows a shift in trend. I am will always be opposed to scenarios where government would allocate resources in a skewed manner,” he said. The ANC leader who Raila’s cousin Jakoyo Midiwo declared Kenya’s official Opposition leader to further challenged MPs to champion for equitable distribution to all parts of the country using their legislative jurisdiction.

He reiterated that he would not hesitate putting the government on toes whenever and wherever it was working against the welfare of the electorate. “Members of Parliament play a critical role in distribution of resources through passage of bills and the budget approvals.

If government allocates resources in questionable manner, I will be on its neck on behalf of all Kenyans,” he said.
