The level of crime in Kenya over the past few weeks has been an issue of concern for security personnel and even the general public. The most absurd thing happened this morning in Homa Bay country where a middle aged couple were found dead in their house at Shauri Yako Estate.
The couple, 43-year-old Ben Mancha 43 and his wife Phoebe Kamire 38, were discovered by a neighbour who was bringing home their six year old child after sleepover.
According to the neighbour, he the two found lying on separate beds. Their landlord, Joseph Onyiego noted that the deceased had been drinking a lot lately and fought a lot.
One neighbour told reporters that Mancha had given his wife Kamire Ksh. 200 to buy food but instead she went to a changaa drinking den and spent it all only to return home drunk and without food.
The area assistant chief Jacktone Olielo however said that the couple is suspected to have committed suicide by consuming poison since there was foam oozing from their mouths.
The bodies have since been moved to Homa-Bay County Morgue as police launch investigations into the incident.
