Matiang’i to pay Millions for Miguna’s mistreatment

The constant cries by the controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna have finally reached the heavens.  The High Court under Justice Chacha was hearing the case against Miguna.

Miguna was forcefully deported back in Canada in the most embarrassing way. This follows after he witnessed the swearing of Hon Raila Odinga as the “People’s President” in Uhuru Park.

Miguna was forcefully deported despite the court order which barred the action.

But according to the high court ruling on Friday, Justice Chacha ordered the state to pay Miguna Miguna 7 million as  compensation for continued violation of his right while in Canada.

Mwita further ruled that actions by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and the other state officials amounted to an abuse of office.

The judge said that taxpayers should not shoulder costs of violations by overzealous state officers.

In order to deter future violations, the court ruled, Matiangi and Immigration Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa should personally pay damages and costs.

Miguna was represented by Lawyer Khaminwa, Kamanda Mucheke and Nelson Havi who won the case against the state.

The self declared NRM leader as continued to fight for his rights and has been the biggest opposer of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila who he risked his life for him to be made the “people’s President” which was considered as treason by the state.

The court also ordered the state to return Miguna’s passport since it was unlawfully confiscated.
