Odinga’s cook up scrumptious breakfast for President Kenyatta

 

President Uhuru Kenyatta this morning kicked off the second day of his three-day Kisumu county tour at the rural home of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The President and his entourage arrived at Raila’s home at 10:45 AM where they were received by Mr. Odinga and his wife Ida before being ushered inside for breakfast.

Distinguished guests such as South Africa’s Deputy President David Mabuza are also expected at the breakfast where the leaders will have an informal meeting before heading for a graduation ceremony at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

 

 

“Mama @IdaOdinga and I are pleased to host President @UKenyatta and other distinguished guests for breakfast at our home in Bondo this morning,” said Raila Odinga in a tweet.

The President will also commission the JOOUST Teaching & Research Laboratory as well as be conferred with honorary doctorates at the event. According to Vice-chancellor Professor Stephen Agong, the event at the institution’s main campus in Bondo will see the two leaders awarded for their historical handshake that sought to bring to an end ethnic antagonism and mischievous political competition.

Thereafter, the two leaders will pay homage to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Mausoleum before going on a tour to meet the people of Bondo.

President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto landed in Kisumu yesterday morning to launch the Universal Health Coverage pilot, one of the pillars in Uhuru’s Big 4 Agenda. The President also launched the Ksh. 655.9 million Ahero Interchange linking Kisumu to Kericho and Kisii counties, a development that will open the county up for business.

 

 

The goodies were not over until President Kenyatta further commissioned the Kisumu- Kakamega road and officially opened the Ken Obura school which is expected to promote equal development across the country without regard to political leanings.
