How Uhuru has converted Jaramogi University into a world class Research Center

Raila Odinga and President  Uhuru Kenyatta have been awarded an honorary doctorate degree at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

During the conferring ceremony The President officially launched The Teaching and Research Laboratory. This Laboratory will be a center of research for the region for it is fully equipped to high standards.

The event was also attended by CS in charge of Education Ambassador Amina Mohammed. This comes as the President early last month in South Africa promised to increase the budget share to education in order to even surpass the international set standard.

The ODM party leader said these are part of the benefits the public will enjoy following the handshake between him and Kenyatta.

“We agreed together with Uhuru to end the political animosity and supremacy battle and to forge forward together to unite this country,” said Raila.

He said the results of the Building Bridges Initiative will address every concern ranging from injustices to electoral reforms.

The President has opened projects including commissioning of Ahero tarmac road, standard gauge railway project and a new Kisumu port.

But the milestone of the  visit is the launching of the pilot episode of the Universal Health care in Kisumu. Other counties piloting the programme include Nyeri, Machakos and Isiolo.

This program is aimed at creating a better and healthy Kenya. It is aimed at subsidizing the treatment cost while increasing the standards of our health sector to match with the international standards.
