Gospel star’s story moves Daddy Owen to releasing a song

Veteran Kenyan gospel singer Owen Mwatia AKA Daddy Owen has justb released a single with uprising Gospel star Kalama Gift Nzaro after he was inspired and touched by his life story.

According to the 25 year old,  “Back in high school, whenever I came home from school, my mum would sob. I never understood why until the day she explained.

He further added saying, “When she was pregnant, my dad bolted and her family gave her an ultimatum. Abort or stay away. Following pressure from her family, she unsuccessfully tried aborting me thrice until a doctor warned her that getting rid of me could kill her.”

GiftBorn’s fate turned when he met his current manager, Joe, at a feeding programme by Reverend Teresiah Wairimu’s FEM ministries.

Joe subsequently introduced GiftBorn to Daddy Owen and whom he featured in his new single, Nitume, an ode to his commitment to God’s calling.

Daddy Owen is known for his big heart and uprifting young gospel Musician. He once collaborated with Denno in one of their biggest hit Mbona which own Groove awards of the years song in 2013 where he dedicated the award to Denno and the reward of 1 million kenya shillings

In 2012 he had won the Artiste of the Year at this year’s Kisima Music Awards where he dedicated his award worth Sh2 million to fellow musician Denno, with whom he sang the winning song “Mbona”.

“Sh1 million will go to Denno and the other Sh1 million will go to the Mbona campaign we started together.”
