Friday was a day of fortune to almost every leader. Several leaders in the country at least made some lifetime achievements. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his opposition counterpart Raila Odinga were honored with honorary doctorates at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University for their historic handshake. At the same time, Chief Justice David Maraga got honored with a honorary doctorate in law by Dayster University. COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli could not be left behind as he also got a honorary degree at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega.

Furthermore, vibrant lawyer Miguna Miguna won big on his deportation case, as court ruled out that he is a Kenyan, and state had violated his rights and even won Ksh. 7 million as compensation for damages caused!

However, Friday spelt doom to a staff at the Nairobi Hospital. A standoff rocked The Nairobi Hospital this afternoon as the board of directors attempted to evict CEO Gordon Odundo.

The impasse was precipitated after the lawyer acting on behalf of the board came to serve Mr Odundo with the sacking letter. Could he afford to board? Just like Miguna Miguna, the CEO could have declared “not to board the eviction vehicle!”

The CEO reportedly locked himself in his office to avoid receiving the letter and the lawyer, who was accompanied by a hospital security guard, was still camping outside the office by 2pm.

The bid to kick out the CEO comes at a time former President Daniel arap Moi is admitted to the hospital for a check-up.
