They say baptism makes you a member of Christ’s body, which is the Church.However a 20-year-old man is not only a member of Christ’s body since he has finally met him after he drowned while being baptised by a pastor in a river south of Ghana’s capital, Accra.
In a video circulating on social media, the man identified as Yaw Kyeremeh is seen stationed at the banks of River Densu together with a pastor who immersed him in the water.
Then after brief prayers, he was immersed a second time, but he did not emerge from the waters.
Watch the video;
According to BBC a junior pastor had been arrested at the scene while police were still searching for the head pastor of the church involved in the baptism.
why a life should be lost during a religious ritual?
Baptism is the way we become members of Christ’ body, which is the Church. This explains why Jesus told Nicodemus: “I tell you most solemnly, unless a man is born again through water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
This incidence will make people fear to be baptized in rivers.
