Jamhuri Day for some reason ushers in the Christmas season for most people in Kenya. Just in case you’re looking for a plan for this year’s holiday or something to get you in the right Christmas mood, then ‘Tis The Season is the ultimate plan for you.
Tis The Season is undeniably Nairobi’s biggest Christmas concert which brings together some of Kenya’s greatest vocalists in two glorious nights of your favourite Christmas carols with a Kenyan twist.
Since its inception in 2013, Atemi Oyungu has been the director and the brains behind idea of celebrating Christmas the Kenyan way.
This year’s edition of Tis The Season features artists like Rigga, Tetu Shani, Kendi Nkonge, Karimi Rimbui, Manasseh Shalom, Daniel Chikhwaza, Wambura Mitaru and Sage Chemutai.
The music is directed by one of Kenya’s greatest female artist’s, Atemi Oyungu and co-directed by Chris Adwar. This 2018 edition also has the magic touch of the power couple Eric Wainaina and Sheba Hirst with the music arrangements done by Eric and the show produced by his wife Sheba.
With an impressive Kenyan ensemble, this year’s concert is definitely the best way to usher in the Christmas cheer as we celebrate the little things that make it special.
This year’s edition will be held at The Hub Mall in Karen. Advance tickets are selling at Ksh. 1500 while Gate Tickets are going for Ksh. 2000. Tickets for children below 12 years are being sold at Ksh. 500 while those under 2 years will get in free.
The first show is going tonight, December 11 from 8:00 pm while the Jamhuri show will start at 5 pm. The show will be hosted by Yafesi Musoke and Elsaphan Njora so prepare for great laughs and good cheer.
