The former face of NTV and a darling to most has continued to make headlines for his exemplary skills in the field of journalism. A field that is currently under threat from vested interests and owners who are ready to intimidate the truth just to safe guard their interests.

But Larry Madowo is an idol of many a young who eye being on the screens.

His departure left many people heart broken. The Trend show was left hanging as it was the family show that kept most family members indoors just to just their week get wrapped in an extra ordinary way.

But his light has not dimmed. He his still lifting the practice of journalism higher with his latest appointment with BBC.

His appointment to work with BBC has definitely been fruitful as BBC has it has launched a center in Nairobi. The BBC center is not only helping in information sharing but has also created a lot of jobs for most journalist around the region.

But his efforts have now been recognized.

Larry Madowo has been named among the 1oo most influential Africans in 2018. He is named as the leading BBC drive.

The list includes Catherine Gicheru as the top investigative journalist. Gicheru is the holder of the first bureau chief and the first female news editor of the Nation Media Group.

Others include: Nima Elbagir who is a leading human rights frontline among many more others.

For the first time, the list is gender-balanced at 50 women and 50 men, with Nigeria dominating the entries, closely followed by Kenya and South Africa. Collated by its global network of correspondents and industry insiders, this year’s listing consists of some fresh faces, amid some key figures returning for the second, even third year.

The annual list has become an industry highlight, unveiling Africans who contributed in shaping the African narrative in the concluding year and also those envisaged to play a big role in the coming year, both on the continent and in the diaspora.
