Everton boss Marco Silva will be taunted by fans of his former club holding toy snakes tonight.

Travelling Watford fans plan to smuggle in the inflatables to Goodison Park as they plan to vent their anger at Silva who was sacked by the Hornets in January.

They feel Silva was unsettled by reports that he was wanted by Everton and though it took them months to finally get their man, the seed had been planted and Watford’s season suffered something of a wobble.

The alleged approach for Silva is still the subject of a Premier League inquiry but it would appear that the Watford fans have already made their mind up about the Portuguese as he prepares to face his old club for the first time.

When you factor in that Everton bought Brazilian star Richarlison for around £50million, you can understand why the Watford fans are looking forward to this one.

Some reports this weekend suggested Hornets skipper Troy Deeney was looking to “smash” his former team-mate who has today been linked with a summer move to Barcelona.

Deeney is quoted as saying: “I was not disappointed (when he left) because business-wise it was a no-brainer for the money.  You can see his potential daily, his enthusiasm for football is up there and he is now getting the Brazil team looking at him. We know what is coming,” he said. “We know when we get there it will be hostile. They will give us grief and we expect that.”
