These are tough times for the Kalenjin Community. It seems the EACC, DCI and ODPP have directed their guns at the community which hopes to produce the next president. It is there is a Kalenjin at the center of every corruption case going down at the moment.

Talk about the NCPB Scandal, NHIF, Kenya Power, Kenya Pipeline. All of them have Kalenjins at the center of  things. This has raised the question of whether the community is being targeted especially since most of these cases are happening post hand shake.

But as the big cases take center stage, it has not escaped our eyes that some smaller fish from the community are also facing crimes that relate to swindling Kenyans.

On Monday, two Two suspects were charged in Eldoret for printing fake KCSE exams and degree certificates for Moi University and the University of Eldoret.

The two were charged with making documents without authority contrary to section 357( a) of the penal code.

Moses Kimungu and Andrew Sigowo face nine counts in relation to the illegal business that had been going on for almost a decade. They denied the charges before chief magistrate Charles Obulutsa.

The other affected institutions include Mount Kenya University, Eldoret National Polytechnic and Olesos Technical Training Institute.

Police also stormed a cyber cafe in the town used to print the fake documents. During the crackdown, police recovered KCSE and KCPE papers. They also found computers and other machines used in the production of the forged certificates.
