Everton striker Richarlison is being eyed up for a move to Barcelona by the Catalan club, according to reports.

The Daily Star claim that, with Luis Suarez starting to feel his age at 32 and with persistent knee problems hindering the Uruguayan, the Spanish champions have made the Toffees’ striker a long-term target.

Richarlison set the newly-wadded Merseyside outfit back £40m when he moved from Watford in the summer and has proved a revelation this term, scoring 7 times in twelve Premier League starts as he starts to pay off that fee.

But the 21-year-old could repay Everton’s outlay in multiples should this mooted deal ever come to fruition.

Richarlison scored twice on his debut for the Brazilian national team shortly after making his switch to Everton and has since gone on to score once more in a total of six showings for the selecao, raising his profile even more.

His pigeon-like celebration hasn’t done any harm in those stakes, either.

But he is, according to these reports, only one of two Premier League strikers being thought about at the Camp Nou as a potential to replace the last one they brought in to such success.

Harry Kane is reported as being their number one choice, but the Spurs man would likely prove prohibitively expensive at a price that could broach world record territory, leaving the Everton youngster as a preferred option.

Everton have brought in three former Barcelona players of late – on loans or permanent deals – and it’s thought that this channel of communication could help facilitate any potential move down the line.

Richarlison and his cohort will be in Premier League action themselves tonight, as the Toffees welcome their Brazilian frontman’s former club Watford to Goodison.
