Bomet residents plant bananas and maize to protest poor state of roads

Poor roads can be a big challenge since it affects the issue of transport and movement.  On rainy days, this could be the worst case scenario as some roads get muddy and cars end up getting stuck.

Worse even for people who  have to walk   on those roads. If you have lived in areas which have roads on a bad state then you might have a clue of what this is about.

In many cases, local leaders have  been blasted for either poor allocation of funds or extorting of funds that are intended for the construction of roads.

Some leaders are even known for only constructing a portion of road only if they reside around that area.

Some have been exposed for using the state of roads to earn themselves tickets to get to office by pledging to initiate development.

Once they land in office, the promise is long forgotten. As the famous phrase says ‘Punda amechoka’ Kenyans have been complaining over time until recently when Bomet residents did the unexpected.

The residents planted bananas and maize  in the middle of the the road as a way of protesting  the poor state of the roads.

Th urban centers are mostly considered yet the rural part of the country have no hope of any developments.

This has bee normalized to the extent that Kenyans are no longer raising their voices.

Leaders continue denying residents good roads which translates to  underdeveloped regions.

What do you think the government should to concerning the poor state of roads?
