Video: Meet the Kisii man who made Uhuru force Sonko to suspend matatu ban into CBD

Did President Uhuru Kenyatta force Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to suspend the ban on public Service vehicles from accessing Nairobi’s central Business District (CBD)? Well, after Governor Sonko’s press release on Tuesday morning, many questions than answers arose following the immediate suspension of the ban that lasted for a day.

On Monday, pain, dejection and frustrations hit city residents with many decrying the government from letting them suffer. Gideon Marube, a Dandora resident who had travelled all the way from Dandora had his journey cut from Eastleigh.

Marube, in a video that might have triggered President Kenyatta to force Sonko end the long walks and chaos, cries out, saying he was not happy with the way he saw people walking all the way from Eastleigh to Nairobi’s CBD.

The saddened Marube in the video asked Kenyans for a short moment to cry for the situation. He notes that they had walked rounds and there was no government to look upon their needs.

He urged the government to look upon the suffering residents of Nairobi who elected it.

Marube notes that roads had been left for people instead of vehicles.

Kenyans on twitter had also raised questions of whether Sonko’s ban suspension was as a result of a directive from the statehouse.
