News that Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has lifted his controversial Matatu ban has come as good music to city residents. This is after a chaotic Monday, that saw most Nairobians walk for long distances to work on day one of the implementation of the ban.
Sonko, made a shocking u-turn on Tuesday morning, when he announced that he had suspended the implementation of the ban to pave way for further consultations.
“I have noted with deep concern, the plight of Nairobi Residents as a result of the ban, and hereby announce that the full of implementation of this directive has been suspended with immediate effect.” Reads part of a statement send to newsrooms.
