Eden Hazard has claimed that Chelsea teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek can become one of the best midfielders in the country.
Failing to break into Maurizio Sarri’s squad during the first two months of the season, the England international has made a big impression for the club over the past six weeks following his hat-trick against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.Opening his Premier League account for the season against Burnley three days later, the 22-year-old was once again on the scoresheet on Sunday as he netted a fine goal against Fulham.
In contention with Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic for the final place in midfield alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, Hazard feels that his teammate can take his game to the next level. “But in the future I think he will be one of the best midfielders in the country.”
With the pair linking up well for the second goal against their west London rivals at the weekend, Hazard believes the team have the players at their disposal to score more goals like that over the course of the season.
“[They’re] good players. When we play together you know we can be good,” he added.
“I remember one goal [like this] against Southampton when (Alvaro) Morata scored.
“This goal yesterday was good but we have the kind of players that when [we are] in short spaces we can do one-touch and give and goes. So we try to do this.”
