Leaked: Mike Sonko alleged plan to squander parking fee

Does the Nairobi Governor have a secret plot in the name of bringing sanity in the city?

In a leaked video, what is suspected to be Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s voice is speaking on how they are going to benefit from the double packing charges.

In the video, Sonko is allegedly assuring the other party that they should wait as he gets unpopular for a while then they  can take up the double packing charges.

He also adds that people can continue making noise over the matter since it is part of politics.

Earlier last week the governor announced the slashing of the parking fees as a move of easing the burden off motorists.

There were claims that he was planning to rip big from Nairobi CBD parking fee and if this is indeed his voice then I guess Kenyans can now link the dots.

In the video the Governor also adds that it does not really matter whether the political leaders bark or get angry at him.

He mentions of MP Jaguar who has yesterday publicly opposed the ban of the Matatus into CBD, saying that he can continue talking but his word is final.

Jaguar yesterday had stated that he was in support of the County Government decongesting the city but until they provide alternative means to the transport menace that has been experienced, then they are giving the county government  until today 4th December to allow matatus back into the city center so that Kenyans can stop suffering.

The Green City shared this video online revealing that after all it was not really about bringing sanity in the city but somehow for political gain.

They also insist that the same reasons that put former Governor Evans Kidero on the spot is the same that will lead to Sonko’s down fall.

However, Governor Mike Sonko earlier today suspended the ban after the Monday pilot project to  decongest the city.

Sonko also added that his administration has noted with deep concern the plight of commuters if the ban was to be effected without the missing link of a commuter train & BRT system.

As at yesterday over 22 saccos were reported to have moved to the court and seems like the fruits of this move came early.
