Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has quietly taken to Premier League football with ease since his move from Borussia Dortmund.

His brace against Tottenham in the Gunners’ 4-2 north London derby win was testament to his ability to handle the English top flight.

The Gabonese ace, 29, has scored a truly impressive 20 Premier League goals in his first 27 top flight appearances, and it’s 22 in 32 when expanded to all competitions.

Aubameyang, though, will rightly get plenty of plaudits on Wednesday night if he can hit the back of the net with his first shot on target.

Against Spurs his two goals, saw him equal Benni McCarthy’s 11-year-old record of netting with 10 consecutive shots on target. And what makes Aubameyang’s feat more impressive is McCarthy, with Blackburn Rovers at the time, set the bar over a two-season period while the Arsenal man has done it over 100 days.

After netting his second against Tottenham, the striker didn’t get another attempt on goal so he could even go one better than the South African.

Next up for Unai Emery’s men, is Manchester United so if Aubameyang can find a way past David De Gea he’ll be a Premier League record breaker.

Arsenal will travel to face Manchester United on the back of a 19 match unbeaten run that has seen them record an impressive draw against second placed Liverpool and a ital win at home to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United meanwhile are winless in their last three Premier League matches and are 8th on the Premier League table.
