Klopp blasted for his disrespectful manners

K
Danny Mills has branded Jurgen Klopp’s goal celebrations disrespectful.

Klopp ran to the centre of the pitch to celebrate a late goal by Divock Origi and former England and Manchester City full-back say that the German tactician went overboard in his celebrations. Origi’s goal is the third in the Merseyside duel and it came after 19 months run without a goal.

“We want to see passion, we want to see the enthusiasm. But to go beyond halfway onto the pitch to celebrate with his goalkeeper, that’s too far. He hasn’t apologised to Marco Silva, Klopp says he has, but Silva says he hasn’t. So who do you believe in that situation?

“Silva dealt with it very well. He handled himself with a lot of decorum and didn’t make a big song and dance about it. There are laws in place for a reason. You’re not allowed to go onto the pitch, it’s as simple as that.” Mills told Skysport.

Mills reckons that the celebration would have easily caused problems with the opposing set of players and whose ramifications would have been huge.

“It’s also quite disrespectful. We’ve seen managers run down the touchline, that’s fine. When you run onto the pitch you can cause all sorts of problems with opposing players. You can’t allow it because next time, the ramifications could be very problematic.” he explained.

The 1-0 win maintained the gap in points separating Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the able.
