Anyone would react the same way. Kenyans have reacted irately to revelations that MPs will gobble up over Sh300 million to participate in sports in Bujumbura, Burundi. The reports have hit already overburdened taxpayers like a ton of bricks, with many left wondering what our priorities are as a nation.
The KSh 300 will be spent on a delegation that includes the legislators, their personal assistants, secretaries and parliamentary staff participating in the East African Community Ninth Inter Parliamentary Group Tournament. Outrageously, the allocated amount could actually be much higher, with Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria putting it at a staggering KSh400 million.
MPs spending 400M to go for games in Rwanda!! We have not forgotten that our amputee football team was in the world cup without funds, football clubs in Kenya can’t support young talents due to lack of funds.. Isokey

Word has it that the most junior individual in the delegation will pocket at least KSh 600,000 in accrued allowances over the 10-day event that kicked off last weekend.
The East African reported that out of the estimated 500 participants who had arrived in Bujumbura by Sunday, December 2, 2018, Kenya accounted for 280 individuals, over half the number, with Uganda having 120 representatives while Tanzania had 83. Kuria had sarcastically noted that Kenya’s contingent is particularly ‘large and strong’ in the tug of war sport category.
When will this MADNESS and NIGHTMARE come to an end?
