CONGRATULATIONS! Kenya’s Harambee Star Nominated For CAF Award

Kenya’s Harambee Stars have been nominated for the Caf team of the year Award. Kenya will battle for the top honors with East African neighbors Uganda, Guinea Bissau, Madagascar, Mauritania and Zimbabwe. However, no Kenyan player made it into the 34-man list of the Caf player of the year nominees, same as Coach Sebastien Migne, who is conspicuously missing from the list of coach of the year.

Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah and his Liverpool counterparts Sadio Mane and Naby Keita top the Afria player of teh year list that also has Ugandan international goalkeeper Denis Onyango, who plies his trade with Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa. Other notable nominees are Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha (Cote d’Ivoire), Algerian Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City, Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Ahmed Musa, who is attached to Al-Nassr. Meanwhile, Harambee Starlets missed the women’s nomination despite posting some positive result in the run-up to the Awcon finals. The women’s list is headed by African champions South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali and Nigeria.
