This is why Jacque Maribe is not responding to whatsapp messages

Citizen TV news Anchor Jacque Maribe has raised concerns regarding her IPhone that is still been held by the prosecution through her lawyer Katwa Kigen.

According to Jacque, ever since she handed over her Iphone to the investigative department for further investigations regarding the death of Monica Kimani her friends have been receiving messages from her yet she did not have her phone with her.

She has further revealed that she has written three letters to the DPP and her lawyer has had several telephone conversations and exchanged messages with State lawyer Catherine Mwaniki, who is representing Mr Haji in the case as well as made multiple visits to their offices.

The journalist says none of her letters have been responded to, so there is no commitment on the part of the prosecution to hand her Toyota Allion car and her black iPhone.

According to a source close to Jacque said, “We had to ‘left’ her from various whatsapp groups in which she was in because we realised the messages were being read. And you know some of those groups have crazy stuff on there,” our source said.

In addition she said,  “Once she gets back her phone we will add her back once she gets back her phone and number.”

She also complains that the prosecution is yet to make any documents or materials likely to be used during the hearing of the case available. “Unless the court intervenes, the DPP and the DCI will continue using the advantages of their public, statutory and constitutional advantages to despise and violate Ms Maribe,” Mr Kigen said.

Justice James Wakiaga allowed the Citizen TV journalist to access her house in Lang’ata. He will review the matter of having her car handed back to her.

Jacque’s application to have the DPP charged with contempt of court will be heard on February 28, 2019.

Jackie Maribe had been held together with her fiance Jowie Irungu for over a month at Gigiri Police station and Lang’ata women prison respectively for her ionvolvement in the murder of Monica Kimani who was found murdered in her apartment in Kilimani area in September.

Jacque was later released on a 1 million bail and Jowie denied and was taken back to remand where he is expected to be till the case is heard in June 2019.
