Sad!!Poor Dental Hygiene robs youths’s dream

They say charity begins at home, most individuals don’t pay good attention of their personal grooming, this bad habit has cost hundreds of individuals their dream jobs.

A large  number of youths from Kiambu County  who turned up for the ongoing KDF recruitment were disqualified due to poor dental hygiene.

A number of the prospects were found to have had missing teeth, others had stained teeth while a couple of them were rejected for having dental diseases.

According to Kiambu Recruiting officer Lieutenant Col. Magandi there is a low turn out of this year’s exercise compared to the previous years.

He expressed how impressed he was that they had not turned away any youth over drunkenness as compared to the high number of cases they experienced last year.

“When we came here we were told that we would find so many young drunkards but I have not experienced a single case,” said Lt Magandi.

He also stated that ladies were locked out of the recruitment this time because there were many female recruits during the last exercise.

“We have to balance the gender. That is sometimes we choose more boys than girls,” He explained

The dental formula is one among the many qualifications that recruiting officers use to disqualify potential recruits. One is required to have all 32 teeth, strong and healthy.

This is because the forces view teeth as personal weapons which can be used as the last resort when all other weapons are not within their vicinity.

The recruitment exercise which will roll out for a month started on 19th of this month and had no positions for women and those who turned up were disappointed and had to return home after their expectations to join the KDF hit a dead end.

The recruiting officers are targeting 3,000 recruits this time. Low turnouts have however been experienced throughout the counties.
