The hustle and frustration of unemployment is real and Kenyans are on a daily basis thinking of the easiest and dubious ways  to make money.

Discovering new tricks everyday after their old tricks fail and assuming that these people  directed the same energy towards other  business idea, that can be so useful to the nation.

Fraudsters are on the rise from online conmen to even people who lure others and get money from them. How bold are these conmen that even go to the extent of posing as detectives? Is this being creative or  pure stupidity?

Well today the DPP has exposed the conmen and warned Kenyans on the tricks that they use to mislead and lure Kenyans into giving them money.

On the Internship job advertisement the DPP clarified that  a medical report is not part of the requirements and therefore Kenyans should be cautious.

“It has been brought to our attention that some CONMEN are taking advantage of the recent advertisements for Pupillage and Internship opportunities in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to swindle money from innocent members of the public.” reads statement in part

Here is how the conmen trick Kenyans

    1. Someone who seems to have all your details calls you using an Orange network line.
    2. He instructs you to go to Aga Khan Hospital for medical test and the results will be sent to the ODPP directly.
    3. The caller also gives you the number of the ‘doctor’ to call before going.
    4. The charges are Kshs 3500. You are strictly to go by appointment so you call the ‘doctor’ before you go.
    5. As you prepare to go you call the ‘doctor ‘to book an appointment and the ‘doctor’ tells you that he is clearing to leave but takes your details and asks you to send him the money and he will directly send a general report which is acceptable by ODPP. He further cautions you not to tell them that you never took the test and the story ends there as the phone goes off instantly.
    6. This is to inform members of the public that a medical report is not part of the requirements for consideration for shortlisting and final appointment into the advertised posts.
    7. We therefore caution the public against falling prey to the CONMEN and appeal to anyone who may have been conned to report to the ODPP or the DCI. Those found culpable will be prosecuted.”
