Days after a Tuk Tuk driver was caught on camera beating up a police officer,a boda-boda rider ran over a female traffic officer while trying to evade arrest in Bomet County.
Confirming the incident, Bomet OCPD Samson Rukungadisclosed that the officer was manning a roadblock along the Silibwer-Litein road when she tried to flag down the rider.
He stated that the man was trying to evade arrest when he hit the officer and critically injured her.
The impact of the crash caused the officer to lose consciousness. She was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
“The police officer is out of danger and is responding to treatment,” Rukunga told journalists.The rider also sustained injuries in the collision and was taken to Silibwet Dispensary.
