Jowie makes a drastic move against Judge Wakianga

A day after Citizen TV Jackie Maribe declared to sue the Director of Public Prosecution Noordjin haji and his counterpart Director of Criminal Investigation Goergr Kinoti, hefr fiancee Jowie Irungu has made a drastic change on Judge James Wakianga.

Jowie who is the main suspect to Monica Kimani’s Murder has surprisingly withdrawn his petition towards Judge Wakianga where he was seeking dismissal of the judge who is handling his case and that of Jackie Maribe for apparently referring to him as a male version of slay king and a woman eater.

Irungu made the drastic change even before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) could listen to the petition occasioned by Justice Wakiaga’s ruling on the bail application made by the two suspects in the case.

The Judge allowed Jacque Maribe to be granted bail while Irungu was to be held in remand for the entire period of the trial.

On Tuesday, Irungu said he made that decision to seek disqualification in a rush and asked the court to allow him to abandon same.

Meanwhile, the prosecution informed the court that it will hand over Maribe’s house in the afternoon even as it holds onto her phone which will be an exhibit in the case.

Maribe had sought contempt orders against the DCI and DPP for holding to her house, car, and for failing to serve her with witness statements.

Maribe was released on a Sh1 million cash bail in the Monica Kimani murder case.

She was granted an alternative of a Sh2 million bond or three sureties of a similar amount.

Her fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, however, remained in custody for the rest of the murder trial.

Justice James Wakiaga, citing Jowie’s history with guns, said the first accused would pose a risk by creating fear and intimidating witnesses.

The judge, in his ruling  said material placed before the court informed his decision on Jowie’s bail application.
