Jowie finally accepts that he is a ‘woman eater’

There was an uproar when Judge James Wakiaga referred to murder suspect Joseph Jowie Irungu as a woman eater or a male version of a slay queen.

Facing a serious offense that may see him face the hangman’s noose, Jowie was not ready to loss his name good reputation too. He was going down, but not as a ‘woman eater.’

He went to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and filed an application seeking the good judge to recuse himself from the case. The remarks by the judge, he had said, injured his dignity and showed bias.

Irungu, together with his TV journalist fiance Jacque Maribe, are accused of killing businesswoman Monica Kimani on September 19.

Irungu, together with his TV journalist fiance Jacque Maribe, are accused of killing businesswoman Monica Kimani on September 19.

But in a surprise turn of events, Irungu has withdrawn the application seeking to disqualify judge Wakiaga from his case. His decision to withdraw the application was made before judge Wakiaga who accepted it.

Irungu said he made that decision to seek disqualification in a rush and asked the court to allow him to abandon same. In other words, Jowie has accepted that the judge was right in calling him a woman eater.

Meanwhile, the prosecution informed the court that it will hand over Maribe’s house in the afternoon even as it holds onto her phone which will be an exhibit in the case.Maribe had sought contempt orders against the DCI and DPP for holding to her house, car, and for failing to serve her with witness statements. The hearing is ongoing.

What next for Jowie after withdrawing the case against Wakiaga?
