Police raid NGO recruiting homo sexual in Kenyan town

Image result for makupa police stationHomosexuality is still a sensitive issue in Kenya and is illegal under the penal code.

In 2016 the United states government released Millions of dollars  to non-governmental organisations that offered support to homosexuals in Kenya’s refugee hosting areas.

However in a bid to benefit from the money that is channeled to African countries to support LGBT community , Non governmental organisations have turned the illegal act to a milk cow .

Police on Saturday raided and took into custody two staffers at a Mombasa- based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) after they were accused of recruiting youth into homosexuality.

The officers raided the NGO, which often prides itself of protecting sexual minorities, after they were tipped by members of the public.

“We received reports that they are recruiting youth to join the community,” stated a police officer.

The two were taken to Makupa Police Station for interrogations that lasted close to four hours.

Members of the public had made complains over homosexual activities in the area with some blasting the organisation over its recruitment.

“We received complaints from members of the public about the activities of the organization. We raided and nabbed some of its staff for questioning,” remarked the officer.

The two staffers were however released at 2pm the same day but more details from the arrest are yet to emerge.

Recent reports have revealed that gay tendencies have been on the rise in the country with most affected regions being Nairobi and Mombasa.

Same sex sexual relations are however prohibited by the laws of Kenya and people found engaging in them risk a 5-year imprisonment.

Rafiki, a lesbian-themed movie produced in Kenya, was banned by the Kenya Film Classification Boss Ezekiel Mutua on grounds that it violated the state’s constitution.
