All the eight Ambira High School students caught on video last week hurling insults at Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed and her Interior counterpart Dr Fred Matiang’i were today arraigned in court.
The eight appeared before Resident Magistrate Gladys Adhiambo at Ukwala Law Court in Siaya County but did not take plea as the the prosecution requested for seven more days to conclude investigations.
Justice Adhiambo granted the prosecution their request and ordered the minors to be detained at children cells in Ugunja police station for another week before the matter is heard on December 3, 2018.
Kenyans have taken to the streets and accused the government of it’s speedy response and arrest of the minors while other criminals in Kenya are yet to be charged.
KOT cited cases such as the death of Msando, the NYS scandal, the Maize scandal all of which have neither been resolved nor have people been arrested in connection to the said crimes.
Why the Government arrested the students of Ambira High school is still a mystery..they move so fast but during campaigns,our leaders throw insults to each other carelessly.. same govt takes 8yrs to probe Saitoti’s death.and ages to Probe Muchai’s, which was on camera..

The Speed used to arrest and prosecute boys from Ambira High School should be used on much failing areas,its a shame to see more strength and energy right from @UKenyatta on such a case. Please divert the strength and energy towards corruption if not on useless big 4 agenda

Others have even accused President Kenyatta of hurling insults at his opponent Raila Odinga during the last general election saying that he ought to have been an example to the students.
The President a few days ago said that the government would not tolerate abuse and insults from indisciplined youth.
Its sad to see society reacting to Ambira high school kids with anger while they smile when Politicians hurl insults to each other at public rally. Babu owino is on record, uhuru kenyatta, Raila et Indiscipline begun in govt and politics. Stop acting holier than thou! @DCI_Kenya

Ambira high school kids did what president himself and MPs have been doing over and over again. Society broke from the above. Starting from the president who called elected governor shetani. Discipline should start from the highest office. Respect is earned not given!

"President Kenyatta" called Baba RAO unprintable names, he presides over the most corrupt government, his DP is the high priest and he is the Lord….Now what gives him a right to feel offended when underage Ambira High School boys learn bad manners from?

Those saying that the government should not jail those Ambira High School boys because our leaders have been hurling even worse insults probably have never heard of;

Do you think the arrest of the students from Ambira High School is justified or do you think the government is being petty?
