Wembe ni ule ule: Jubilee Twitter account hacked

It’s not only the security in the country that is a problem, it looks like the Jubilee government has not only been unable to strengthen security around the country but also that of their Twitter. It’s shocking that hackers can manage to hack a political party’s Twitter account, well unless the password was something as predictable as tano tena then it does not make sense.

While the Jubilee party said, ‘tuko pamoja’, hackers somewhere in the world might have taken the slogan quite literally and hacked the official Twitter account of the political party.

The account has been hacked by two users posting information on “how to make money online” from an undisclosed location. The tweet attached with a video promises users an opportunity to make over $300 (Ksh. 30,000) a day.

“If you guys want to make $300+ a day sign up at Dailysurveys.coThey pay $150 for taking the first survey and $20-$50 for each survey after LINK IN THEIR BIO @PAIDCLUB , I tested the site out and I got my $150 bonus for the first survey,” reads the message posted on the account with the video below,” reads the tweet.

The hackers have spammed the account by posting the video countless times and tagging other users. They even went further to pin the tweet to the top.

The hackers who seem to be posting a minute by minute update on the Jubilee’s party twitter account posted their first tweet at around 1pm on Sunday and by the time of going to press, the tweet had more than 22,000 comments in two hours most of which are tags from the hackers.

The Jubilee Party has neither responded to the issue nor issued a public statement.
