Martial stayed in Manchester after suffering a muscle injury in the Manchester derby defeat to City, having been called up to the France squad. Lukaku also worked on his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury in Antwerp, Belgium, as he sat out the national team’s Nations League ties with Iceland and Switzerland. Pogba is fit again after he missed the City match.

Marouane Fellaini also remained in England, despite playing 90 minutes in the derby and is slated to start against Palace at Old Trafford. The suspended Shaw is the only unavailable player from United’s 23 outfielders after he accumulated five yellow cards.

“Martial stayed with us, he didn’t go to the national team,” Mourinho explained. “The national team was aware of his problems and with their permission he stayed, he worked really hard on that. I like to call that a pre-injury because problems in the pubes area and the muscles around it, they are a dangerous situation and he was in a pre-injury situation.
