Ever thought that Babu Owino could be one of the MPs that speaks sense? Well today he got me thinking that maybe he is.
Members of Parliament have have been perceived to give cheap talks and PR stunts.
Babu Owino has for the longest time spoken his mind and Kenyans praise him for his comrade mentality despite the many controversial situations he has been caught up in. He might be wrong sometimes but a statement he recently made speaks volumes.
Recently the MPs cried out and campaigned for rent free houses among other demands. 416 Members of Parliament, Speakers of both Houses and majority leaders in both chambers will each be provided with a rent-free house, a government vehicle, an expanded medical cover, travel allowances and an expanded constituency outreach operation, if the new proposed Bill becomes law.
The Kenyan MPs are said to be among the best paid in world, the agenda they are pushing forward is only their self gain and less of representing their people.
Babu Owino has instead given a contrary opinion to the level of greed that the MPs have. At least speaking with the same voice as that of many Kenyans.
In a tweet, Babu Owino says that MPs should be busy thinking about making roads instead of pushing the agenda of getting flashy cars and a posh lifestyle at the expense of Kenyan money.
Babu Owino clearly says that it does not make sense to have good cars on bad roads. Kenyans have lauded Babu Owino’s remarks and added that he should consider putting his words into actions by being the voice in parliament.
We politicians should push for good roads not good cars on bad roads!

Spoken like ten wise men. Those roads must also be designed & built by citizens.
