A day after controversial video of veteran Tanzania Gospel artist Rose Muhando being cast out demons went viral, Tanzanian Music Foundation (TAMUFO) has ordered gospel musician to fly back to the country immediately.
TAMUFO says the singer needs to return home for “specialised medical treatment”,the agency has also pledged to help the Rose Muhando .
Speaking during an interview with Tanzania’s Amani newspaper, TAMUFO secretary Stella Joel said that,“It is true that Rose Muhando is ailing, and the music foundation has already contracted doctors from Apollo Hospital in India to attend to her. The medical experts are already in Tanzania,” said Ms Joel.
“As an agency mandated to look into the welfare of musicians in Tanzania, we have decided to seriously look into her claims. In that viral video, she accuses her former manager, Nathan, of very bad things. Her claims paint a bad picture of our industry,” said Ms Joel .
Adding that the agency believes that the singer is not possessed but she is up to something.
“We have ordered Rose Muhando to immediately return to Tanzania. We understand that she is being housed by a fellow musician in Kenya. We have also summoned Nathan to appear before the agency and address the claims Ms Muhando leveled against him. We, as an agency, believe Rose Muhando is not demon-possessed, but there is something she is up to”.
some months back the Tanzanian gospel singer decided to leave her motherland and relocate to Kenya, a move she says will help her get peace and happiness in her life.
However ,in interview by Tanzanian newspaper Ijumaa Wikienda, Muhando claimed that she had recently received death threats from a bishop whom she accused of sexually harassing her.
Muhando further claimed that the bishop has been demanding sexual favors from her as repayment for helping her financially with her music career.
The musician claims that her efforts to report the bishop to the authorities have been futile because the man of the cloth is well connected politically, besides being wealthy.
Muhando has recently been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons, including controversies ranging from drug abuse, abortion and sexual harassment to shady business deals and death threats.
