What prompts  married couple to cheat?

Police in Nakuru County have launched a manhunt of a man who slit the throat of his wife and gravely injured her lover after catching them engaging in sexual intercourse on his matrimonial bed.

The incident happened at the suspect’s house on Wednesday night at Kapregerego Village in Tinet Location, Kuresoi South Sub-County, Nakuru County.

According to local Nyumba Kumi Initiative elder, Robert Mutai, Paul Maritim found his wife, Janet Maritim, entertaining her lover at 11pm.

Paul reached for a club and a panga and attacked Janet’s lover, leaving him for the dead. He, thereafter, fatally slit Janet in the throat.

The commotions caught the attention of the couple’s neighbour, who rushed to the scene. The neighbour was also badly attacked by Paul.

The injured men were rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment, and later transferred to Tenwek Hospital for advanced medical care.

Paul Maritim’s uncle, Wilson Yetkei, said his nephew was angered that his wife, a mother of seven, had betrayed him.

Paul’s friend, who spoke in confidence, said the suspect told him that he will surrender himself to the police at Keringet post.

Janet’s body was moved to Olenguruone Hospital mortuary.

Frustration in the marriage is one common trigger the adulterer made several attempts to solve problems to no avail. Maybe she had second thoughts about getting married or he was jealous over the attention given to a new baby and neither had the skill set to communicate these feelings.

However experts advice that, if you were the one cheated on, it’s critical to realize that you’re not responsible for your spouse making the decision to cheat. You are not to blame for his or her behavior. You may, however, want to explore how the dynamics between you and your spouse led you to this point.
