After release on bail in the Rongo University murder case,embattled Migori Governor Okoth Obado executed major changes in key county offices one day after resuming duty. Three weeks earlier cabinet reshuffle was done on a Monday in Migori County.

This was done with a promise that more changes were underway.“There are some changes that are still under way, which will be communicated in appropriate time,” said Nicholus Anyuor.

An executive who spoke in confidence, said that a number of staff were afraid because the governor could sack them.

“There is panic everywhere. You can’t tell what he’s going to do next. Perhaps it’s me who will be kicked out,” he claimed.

Well indeed the panic moment presented itself against amidst all the fears they had.

The governor quietly returned to Migori for the first time after his second arrest over guns possession. In his subsequent release Migori Governor Okoth Obado presided over the county operations where his deputy briefed him on few areas when he reported to work on Tuesday, November 20.

During the early morning briefings, Obado announced changes at the county government

In the new executive government, Valentine Ogongo will be the county executive committee member(CECM) in charge of Agriculture while Elijah Gambere is the new chief officer.

Immediate former chief officer in land, Edward Kabaka was moved to water in the same capacity named where Rebecca Maroa was appointed the committee member. County secretary Christopher Rusana was however retained.

Formerly,just six days after leaving Industrial Area prison, Governor Okoth Obado reshuffled his cabinet, a move that caused anxiety.

In the changes, Mr Dominic Akugo who was the Director in charge of administration in the governor’s Office was moved to the Ministry of Education in the same capacity.

He replaced Lazarus Ogutu who is currently facing corruption charges.Mr Edward Kabaka Ochenge was appointed Chief Officer for Water and Energy department replacing Donald Jaleny who was moved to the Monitoring and Evaluation department.

According to Migori County Communication Director Nicholas Anyuor, the changes were normal administrative decisions meant to improve services to the people of Migori.
