If not many, then some of the Kenyans do not even know what the gender bill that is currently being debated in the parliament entails. And now they are so suprised that ho learn that Chief Justice has the authority to dissolve the parliament should the bill not pass.
The article 261 of our Kenya constitution give Chief Justice David Maraga the authority to dissolve the Parliament.
Here are some of the Kenyans reactions.Take a look:
Who came up with this gender clause in our constitution. What were they thinking? It’s not practical and it’s filling our parliament with slay queens

Way to go. Wish he can also dissolve plus the stones and bricks that build that house.

No parliament will be dissolved. Not in Kenya. #GenderBill is a useless bill that should be done away with. We must actually #AbolishArticle81B

So will the MPs pass the #GenderBill out of genuine interest for EQUALITY and CONSTITUTIONALISM or out of fear of DISSOLUTION? My guess is as good as yours

Let the parliament be dissolved, and women battle it out with men in their hunt for votes. Kwani iko nini?

What will be the purpose of debate then if it’s just meant to pass. In debate there must be a vote either for or against, and that’s the procedure.

this bill is only workable on appointments, on elective positions i have really never understood why we have more women voters than men yet they cant vote for their own. All those nomination slots are being created for girlfriends of politicians… its so annoying.
