“Sharon killers are planning to assassinate me and I got your threats … A Muslim does not fear death. @DCI_Kenya @RailaOdinga” read the tweet.

The post captured the attention of a lot of netizens with a few of them showing concern and the rest dismissing the alert.

State House Secretary of Digital Innovations & Diaspora Communications, Dennis Itumbi, told the lawmaker, “Pole sana my friend. Pray that you remain safe. A tweet is good, but an OB Number is better. Just in case you do not know how to get an OB number, walk to the nearest police station and they will record and investigate.”

He advised him to ask the media to accompany him.

One Jackson Wanyama dismissed the MP noting, “Oh pls just shut up! You are looking for political Bonga points. We know you are scared you can’t win an elective seat when Raila retires from Politics.”

The MP had slammed Migori Governor Okoth Obado, who is a suspect in the murder of Sharon, by stating that the county boss was on a mission to subvert justice through politics by associating himself with Deputy President William Ruto.

By the time of publishing, efforts to reach the MPs were futile as his phone was off.

Detectives were looking for three suspects they believed were crucial in unravelling the murder of Ms Otieno to both Uganda and Tanzania.

Police had charged Ms Otieno’s boyfriend, Migori governor Okoth Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo, and Migori County clerk Caspal Obiero.

However, reports claimed that they were yet to arrest some of the suspects believed to have been part of the killer squad that tortured Sharon, who was kidnapped alongside Nation journalist Barrack Oduor.

Although Mr Oduor managed to jump out of a moving vehicle, Ms Otieno’s lifeless body was later found by a herdsman near Kodera Forest.
