Not again!!Suspected Kidnapper killed in Thika

Detectives have shot dead a man believed to be in a  group of four who allegedly hold hostage a family in Thika however three of the suspects manage to escape.

According to the police, the four suspected kidnappers fired at the police who managed to shot and kill one of them as his three accomplices fled.

The DCI tweeted,”|1 man who was in a group of about 4 robbers holding a family hostage in Thika West, was early today fatally injured by Detectives. The robbers started firing at the officers who had responded to the distress call- prompting them to fire back.3escaped & are being pursued.”

However, police reports gave no details of the said kidnapped family members and for how long they had been held hostage.

It also remains unclear whether the kidnappers made any ransom demands,the police have however said that they are pursuing the suspects who are on the run.

This comes months after the detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have rescued a five-year-old boy who was reported kidnapped earlier this month in Thika, Kiambu County.

The boy was  found in a house in Thika town after a raid by the detectives which left the alleged kidnapper dead and a woman the child was living with arrested.

The boy was abducted after a church service at Word Temple Church in Starehe Estate on Sunday October 7, 2018.

His father recorded a statement at Thika Police Station after the boy’s friend, with whom he had attended church, returned with a note indicating that they had been given 4 hours to part with Ksh.520,000 to secure their son’s  freedom of their son.
