Kenya Volleyball Federation unveils its new sponsor

KCB Bank has announced its sponsorship of the  Kenya Volleyball Federation national play offs dubbed KCB KVF National play offs.

The bank has placed Ksh 1,000,000 million towards the event’s prize purse and preparations ,the play offs is scheduled to take place at Kasarani indoor Arena from 1st – 3rd December 2018.

Speaking during the Cheque handover ceremony on Tuesday 20th November at the Indoor Arena., KCB Group Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Judith Sidi Odhiambo who is also KCB ladies’ volleyball team patron urged the teams to strive for excellence during this annual tournament.

“We are excited to sponsor this year’s KVF play offs, a testament of our commitment to sports development in the region, we wish all the teams the best of luck as they battle for the continental tickets “said Judith.

This year’s edition will kick off with an opening ceremony on Saturday 1st December followed by three days of volleyball action.

Kenya Volleyball Federation President Waithaka Kioni  lauded KCB for the sponsorship adding that the partnership will go a long way in refining the spirit of competition in the league..

“We are very much grateful to KCB Bank for the huge boost towards the staging of this year’s event, KCB has produced some of the country’s best talent in volleyball and we look forward to other areas of collaborations in the future” said Waithaka.

The play offs have attracted 4 ladies’ teams namely; Kenya Prisons, KCB, Kenya Pipeline and Bungoma while the men teams includes, Prisons Kenya, KDF, KPA and GSU.

KDF men will face off with Kenya Prisons men during the opening match on Saturday morning followed by KCB ladies clash with Kenya Prisons.

The top teams in each category will represent Kenya during next year’s Africa club Championships in Cairo Egypt.
