Ex-Gor Mahia Coach Set To Be Unveiled In South Africa …….

Immediate former Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr was on Monday unveiled at South African Premier Soccer League side Black Leopards as their new manager.

Just days after quitting in a huff, immediate former Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has switched allegiance to a team not many K’Ogalo fans will be happy to associate with.

This for the simple reason that his new club bears a similar name – well, almost similar – to Gor Mahia’s sworn enemies AFC Leopards.

On Monday the Englishman was unveiled at South African Premier Soccer League side Black Leopards as their new manager.

Kerr, who resigned as Gor coach last Thursday, replaces Joel Masutha who threw in the towel last week due poor results.

The Englishman led Gor to two league titles during his 16-month reign – winning 51 matches, 16 draws and 12 defeats in 79 games.

Black Leopards, founded in 1983, were promoted to the topflight this season and are ranked at position 14 on the 16-team table with nine points after 11 matches.

They host their games at 40,000-seater Thohoyandou stadium. Coach Dylan Kerr has officially been appointed to handle Black Leopards.

The former Gor Mahia tactician had earlier told Goal that he was negotiating to take over at the PSL side after arriving in South Africa on Monday.

The club have confirmed in their official website that they have appointed the Briton, who won two league titles with Gor Mahia, to replace Joel Masutha.

However, the club could not give details of the contract signed by Kerr. The move comes as a double blow for Gor Mahia, as they prepare to start their campaign in the Caf Champions League, where they will face Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi.

Apart from losing coach Kerr, a source close to the coach, also confirmed to Goalthat the coach will invade Gor Mahia for the services of key players, among them defender Philemon Otieno and midfielder Francis Kahata.

“Dylan (Kerr) is likely set to sign a two-year contract before end of this week and what I know he will recommend for a number of signings and this will definitely affect Gor Mahia.

“He is a great admirer of Philemon Otieno and Francis Kahata, so expect the two to make the list of transfer, if he pens a deal in South Africa.”

Kerr’s first game will be at home to second-placed and title challengers Bidvest Wits on December 1.
