BREAKING: 2018 KCPE Results To Be Announced Today

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results are set to be announced today in Mombasa by Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed.

The announcement is expected to take place at the Star of the Sea Primary School.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday said that the marking of the KCPE examinations has been completed and the results was due to be released soon.

The Ministry of Education and the examination council is releasing the 2018 KCPE results today at Star of the Sea School, Mombasa County at 1 p.m.

The Kenya National Examination Council and the Education CS Amina Mohammed are set to announce the results of the exams done three weeks ago.

On Sunday, in what appeared to be the slip of the tongue, President Kenyatta hinted that the KCPE results were ready for release.

At the same time, the President said that this year’s KCPE examinations was free of cheating and other malpractices.

“There was very little cheating or abuse during this year’s exam and I thank the parents, teachers and candidates. We want to congratulate all those who contributed into making the exams a success,” President Kenyatta said.

A total of 1,060,703 candidates sat this year’s end of primary school examinations.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who hinted on the possible release on Sunday will be in Mombasa and is expected to meet Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) officials before the release.

Based on a similar exercise last year, the results could be released from Mombasa once the President is formally briefed.

The Head of State has urged those who sat the exams to be satisfied with whatever grade they rightfully scored, adding that the government will ensure they all proceed to secondary school.

The president has assured that every candidate will have the secondary school enrollment letters before Christmas celebrations. Officials say there were minimum cases of cheating due to vigilance and multi-agency operations launched.
