War it is! Neymar and Cavani clash as Uruguay star kicks PSG team-mate

Are these two ever going to get along? After all football is for bringing and uniting people. Neymar captained Brazil at the Emirates Stadium in a friendly tie with Cavani’s Uruguay. The duo’s relationship has never been the best at PSG ever since Neymar joined the French giants from Barcelona in 2017 – effectively usurping Cavani as top dog.

And Cavani showed he is not the biggest fan of his team-mate during Uruguay’s 1-0 defeat.

Cavani and Neymar had been niggling at each other for much of the game when the tension finally came to a head in the 86th minute.

Neymar was drilling down the left wing and danced with the ball in front of Cavani.

The Uruguay striker in turn lashed out at his PSG team-mate, leaving Neymar in a heap on the turf.

Cavani was booked for the incident, which could have injured his club team-mate.

And as the footage shows, Cavani clearly made contact with Neymar’s left ankle.

This is not the first time the pair have been embroiled in an on-pitch feud.

When Neymar arrived at PSG, Cavani was still the man to take free-kick and penalty duties.

But that all changed once the Brazilian was on the team as Neymar stamped his authority as the world’s most expensive player.

And in October this year Cavani accidentally tackled Neymar during a Champions League game as the Brazilian was preparing to shoot.

Neymar had to go off the field for treatment over the incident.

It is not known what will happen in upcoming transfer markets but there are suggestions either Cavani or Neymar will be gone by the start of next season.

Cavani has suitors in Italy, having starred at Napoli before his move to Paris in 2013.

And Neymar is wanted back at Barcelona, while Real Madrid are also keen on the forward.

Neymar scored the winning penalty as Brazil beat Uruguay 1-0 in north London.

After the game, he was asked about Barca’s transfer interest.

But the superstar simply smiled, shook his head and refused to answer the questions.
