After going underground for more than two weeks since she was released from Langata Women’s Prison, Jacque Maribe has re-emerged, looking totally different from the woman we last saw at the High Court.

She has a new hairstyle, her makeup is on point and she is rocking sun glasses. I would say she was stunning. The picture was taken by a hawk eyed papparazi at Samburu West Woman Rep Naisula Lesuuda’s lavish wedding.

Jacque has had a tumultuous period in the last two months, but she seemed composed at the wedding. Her face didn’t betray anything. And in fact it would have been so hard to tell that she is a woman facing a murder charge in court.

She spent close to two weeks in remand, after she was accused, together with her boyfriend Joseph Jowi Irungu, of killing Monica Kimani in her apartment in Lamuria Gardens, off Denis Pritt Road in Kilimani area.

Justice James Wakiaga released her on a sh 2 million bail, but restricted her from reading news or doing interviews, meaning she has a lot of free time until the hearing and determination of her case which starts in June next year.

Meanwhile, her boyfriend Jowie, who was denied bail because of his love for guns and being a flight risk was recently at the Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.

He was however not treated, KNH said it is owed more than sh 30 million by the prisons department and cannot continue accumulating debts.

Lesuuda and her longtime love Robert Kiplagat exchanged vows on Saturday at a lavish wedding at ACK St. Phillips Lesirai in Samburu.

She had announced her engagement on January 1 this year. “Here’s to new beginning… all said and done, I thank God for the growth that I have experienced both politically and in my personal life. Yesterday, marked an important day in my life. I said yes. Blessings in double portions. Here’s to love and light in 2018.”
